Making Do

What's that saying that was going around for a while...something about "make do, or do without"? Can't remember the line exactly, but I can say that in my life "making do" tended to have a bad connotation. There was nothing happy, or challenging about it. Somehow I had decided that making do was a punishment for not being successful enough to have a house full of Pottery Barn or a fancy wardrobe full of name brand items. Thank God I got over that!

In the last year, the Universe has thrown me some curve balls that have made me really re-think my life and some of my preconceived notions. I looked around at all the things that I thought I needed in my home to make life better and all the time I've wasted wishing I had this or that. What a silly pastime. In my quest to do more with less, I've found that I'm actually having fun "making do". It's not a punishment at all, but an adventure; a fun filled challenge to get a look for the least amount possible. On this page you'll find links to the projects where we've managed to do more with less with awesome results. As we progress on the projects, I'll keep a tally of the costs just to show how much you really can do on a very tight budget!
