Oh, hi Monday...it's you again.

Why is it that every other part of the week can seem to drag by, but the weekend comes and, before you can say "but I have so much to do!" it's gone and it's Monday. Again. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Mondays, but dang if I wouldn't love to just be able to stay here at home hang out with my little black dog and create. Or dig in the dirt. Or curl up in the big chair with a pot of tea, a blanket and a good book. Now THAT sounds amazing on this chilly February morning!

But, like it or not, it is Monday and in a few hours, I'll be in my little car driving the 65 miles to my day job. This week will mark 90 days since I made the decision to close my shop and get a 'real' job. It's been interesting and I've been challenged. Which is a good thing. The drive itself is beautiful. So much green. And the hour or so that it takes to get there has had another benefit. Thanks to my Ipod and Audible.com, I've 'read' some really good books. And I'm learning French!

It was cold and we had some wild weather this weekend so not much got done around the house, but we did manage to drive into town and have Sunday dinner with Ken's family in honor of his upcoming 50th birthday. My husband is a quiet man and has never been one to like big productions. He put his foot down when it came to this landmark birthday. No party. So it was a quiet dinner of roast beef and potatoes and the awesome cake that I was able to surprise him with; a cake in the shape of his favorite high school ride. It was a 1967 Camero and a car I'll never forget. Judging by the smile on his face I think he was pleased.

So, here's to Monday and the start of a new week. Hoping that it's a wonderful week for all of us!
